Stereonet Mobile is a geological orientation data collection, visualization, and analysis tool that complements the Stereonet desktop program. It strives to encompass the core features of the desktop version while adapting to the constraints of mobile devices. The application enables users to:

• Automatically input geological compass data by leveraging the iOS device orientation, converting it into strike and dip of planes, or trend and plunge of lines. It stands out as the sole geology compass app utilizing augmented reality for recording strike and dip of planes via the sighting method and device camera.
• Manually input data through tapping and dragging on the stereonet or entering values into text fields.
• Graph lines and planes with the ability to categorize them under various user-defined data types like bedding, cleavage, or slickensides.
• Conduct fundamental calculations including rotations about any axis, determination of planes from poles or poles from planes, measuring angles between lines or planes, and carrying out basic slope stability computations.
• Display mean vectors, cylindrical best fits, rose diagrams, and contour lines.
• View plots from all angles rather than solely from above into the lower hemisphere.
• Show the datum location on a map or satellite image (with an internet connection).
• Demonstrate real-time modifications to the stereonet projection aiding in enhancing students’ comprehension of spatial geometry.
• Offer standard iOS data input and output functionality.
• Function on iPhones or iPads. While operational on iPods or iPads lacking cellular data connectivity, these devices are limited by fewer sensors and do not support automatic data collection mode.
